McDonald’s Serves Raw Chicken to Woman in QLD

January 23, 2015

A Queensland woman has vowed never to eat McDonald’s food again after allegedly being served raw chicken in a McWrap this week.

Gizela Tahuri, a personal trainer from Deception Bay in Queensland says that she took two huge mouthfuls out of the sandwich before realising that the chicken was raw. “I thought this is really really soft and pulled out the chicken strip inside,” she said, “and I thought ‘oh my god that is actually raw’.”

Ms Tahuri has posted photos of the offending chicken on her Facebook page and it is indeed very pink. “So much for healthy choices McDonald’s when you serve RAW chicken. I haven’t eaten McDonalds for nearly 2 years and now I know why. Mmm I’m not loving it,” she said on her Facebook page.

It was the first time in two years that the personal trainer had visited the fast food chain and she chose the McWrap as it was from the Healthy Choices menu. She said that she wouldn’t be eating at McDonalds again and in future if she took her children there for a treat, she’d double check any food before handing it over.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said about the incident, “‘We are disappointed that this has happened. We take food safety very seriously and have strict processes and systems in place. An investigation is currently underway with the restaurant, and we encourage the customer to contact us to help us to investigate fully.”

It’s another food safety blow for the fast food chain who suffered from a number of food safety incidents throughout 2014 including metal rings, razor blades and marijuana being found inside their products.
